Our public schools are a cornerstone of SOMA. We're fortunate to be part of a school district that strives to include every student and voice. We're proud of what students achieve here, academically, creatively, and athletically. We are inspired by our engaged student body and community; energetic parent volunteers; dynamic teachers; and new, thoughtful leadership.

We are parents with students in the District who span pre-K to 12th grade. We will work toward a District that:

  • Supports student’s diverse needs, including a well run Special Education department, a Gifted and Talented program, and expansion of Career and Technical Education at CHS.

  • Develops common-sense policies around school placement decisions, recognizing families have different needs and preferences.

  • Promotes a robust arts education program, the pride and joy of our community.

  • Ensures that all student athletes have equitable access to sports facilities, including the addition of turf to Ritzer Field.

  • Strategically analyzes and oversees the budget and budget process, ensuring we plan for current and future years.

  • Embraces and nurtures the skills, talents, and experiences of our vibrant community - especially teachers and parents.
